The Lords Prayer - As Jesus Wrote It

I was born and raised Catholic and the Lord's Prayer was very much a part of my praying ritual. Actually, it was the only prayer with the Hail Mary that I did all my life until my late 20's when I realized the best form of prayer for me was conversation. A friend recently introduced me to what is known as the "the original version" of the prayer that she found in a book and shared it with me. My how different the two prayers are from each other. This prayer is so beautiful it gives me chills when I read it.

I would love to hear from anyone who wants to share their thoughts on this prayer and their prayer practices.

Namaste',
Lee
My Spirit

My Spirit you are Omnipotent

Your name is holy

May your kingdom be incarnate in me

May your power reveal itself within me

On Earth and in the Heavens

Give me today my daily bread and

Thus let me recognize my sins, and

I shall recognize the truth

Do not lead me into temptation and confusion

But deliver me from error

For yours is the kingdom within me, and

The power and knowledge forever

  1. Lee,
I think this is a beautiful interpretation. I remember when I attended Unity Church that they changed the sentence: Do not lead me into temptation..." to "Do not leave me in temptation", which made more sense to me. But above all, I believe that it is one's vibration and alignment with Source - not the words - that really matters.

    Love,
